I've been tellin folks, there are guys who shoot AR15's (National Match rifles) that are not far from stock using 75grn hand loads out to 1000yrds in competition and winning... I do believe that there are a bunch of them that shoot at Camp Perry every year.I can confirm folks using them out here for it.

The USAMU has been shooting 223 Service rifles at 1000 yards matches and winning for some time now.
