Had one, thought it was COOL , and decided that I did not like it at all.
Quickly removed and sold it :D. I'll give it one thing, it was a tough stock, you could use it as a hammer.

I had the L version on my support rifle and would have kept it there except that I hit a really good deal on a MagPul PRS. Just recently sold the SOCOM, kinda regretting that because it would have gone very nicely on my new AR.

They are built like tanks and a worthy investment.

I had two of the older ones with a different lock up mechanisim. The stock twisted 4 or 5 degrees on the buffer tube and caused itself to lock up. I sent them both back to ace for "what ace called the newer 2006 model". Once I got the new ones I sold them.

I dont have much patience for stuff that dont work.

Ive since went with the LMT SOPMOD and the magpul CTR and love them both.... I like the LMT a little more... it seems to fall into place better on me.

Thanks for the imput, he Ren did the newer 2006 model still have that twist in it? And the CTR is my second choice, I like the friction lock on it, but I just like the idea of being able to beat down a door and not worry about my stock getting bent, or beating in some would be bad guys head:D:twisted: No pics though

any particular reason why you did not like it? Or just personal taste?

Personal taste I guess. Like I said, while looking at pics of them and reading how strong they were, I thought it would be fantastic. But once I had one and installed it, I never warmed up to it.

The CTR I have and like, the UBR is door busting strong ( I got a pre-production unit ) and they should be available very soon according to Magpul.

:D

The twist happened after about 500 rounds.... thats when they got sent back. When I got the new ones I never mounted them and sold them as new in the box.... so I dont know if the same thing would happen or not.

I would not bank on this stock beating anything down other than your wallet. Looks can be deceiving and the way mine locked up, it couldnt even handle the recoil of a 223 after 500 rounds.

Saposidly ACE has changed the lockup mechanisim so maybee its better...or maybee its not.

If your bent on getting one of the ACE stocks I would get one of the non-colapsable stocks they offer.....other than that... its SOPMOD or CTR for me.
