Aimpoint on AR

I always liked the look of the longer scopes like an Aimpoint 9000SC but those are like $310 anybody recommend other scopes that resemble them, but are more affordable?? I'm not sure what to think of a scope that's battery powered I have no experience with them. This scope would be for an AR-15 A3.
