The instructions that came w/ my 22lr conversion said to only use roundnose 22lr ammo and not hollow point - however, the only bulk packs i can find are for 22lr HP.

Does anyone out there have experience w/ this? can i just use the HP ammo?

Thansk in advance,

I believe we used some of the Federal Value pack .22LR and it didn't have any problems.

Worst case scenario if you have another .22 you just end up stockpiling a few brands until you find a .22 brand that you like.

I use this stuff in all my .22s and have no problems. We fired several magazines full auto including a mag dump out of the conversion with very few problems. He'd been shooting the gun all morning and it was very very dirty.

Is that value pack the hollow point stuff? I'll probably try Ace hardware later today and see if they have any normal round nose stuff.

thanks

I've shot the Walmart Remington value pack HPs. My converion kit didn't mention anything about not using hollowpoints.

Yeah, the picture isn't exactly the same as the ones that I buy. But the ones I use are 36gr. copper washed hollow point manufactured by Federal.

Awesome - guess thats what I'll be buying - i cant wait to shoot it!! Kinda takes a little fun out of shooting the .223 when you know its costing about .26 cents every time I pull the trigger. Will be a little easier when the cost is .02 cents w/ the .22!!!
