I posted about this earlier, but didnt put the title correctly so not sure if it got the message across.

I put my 22lr conversion kit in and can't figure out how the heck to get it out! Can anybody help out there? When I pulled the charge handle back about 1/2 way the .223 bolt just came right out, but when I do that w/ the 22lr it seems to just cock the bolt versus letting the 22lr bolt assembly come out. Is there a trick to this or do I just have to give it some force and pull the bolt out?

Please help, Im going to the range early in the morning and would like to shoot .223 as well as .22.

Thanks in advance everybody! Somebody has to know how to do this!!! Thanks again!

Gosh, I don't have a .22 conversion kit any more. I have the mag inserts somewhere around the house. Can you post a pic of it I'm sure we could help you figure it out.

Are there two threads like this? :? Must be...

This is what I posted in the other thread.
When you pivot the upper reciever away from the lower you should be able to pull the carrier assembly out of the upper along with the charging handle.

I wasn't paying too much attention when my friend put the conversion kit into the upper but it seems like the charging handle will only cock the assembly and not completely remove it like a normal bolt carrier.

Let me know if this helps.

Yeah I was able to get it out w/ some prying w/ my leatherman. I was just nervous about pushing on it too hard and breaking it. Just needed a bit of elbow grease.
