Howdy everyone. I am about to start an AR build and wanted your thoughts. Originally, I was going to order a Stag upper and lower and just put them together all for about $680 before shipping and FFL fees.

I went to a local store to see what their fees are and to look around and the guy there told me he'd build me a lower using a Spike's tactical lower, M4 stock, LPK for around $240. He also has a RRA M4 upper but isn't sure if it is a chrome-lined barrel or not, he thinks it is. He said he would basically give me the rifle for $680 + tax, which is about what the Stag upper and lower would cost me.

Do you think I should go with the complete Stag or what he has in store? What would you do? I know that Stag has a good rep and have read good reviews on here about Spike's Tactical as well.

Just need a little advice since I'm a newb. Thanks.

Spikes lowers look nice, but what LPK, what M4 stock ?

The Stag will come with the milspec size extention, so if you ever want to upgrade the stock, you won't have to replace the tube with it. And if he "thinks" the RRA is chrome lined, I'd go with the Stag again...you know it is. RRA come either.

I'd go with the Stag.

So you think Stag all around or just on the upper? I believe the LPK is DPMS, but not sure about the M4 stock.
