true, but not like 6.8 is.BBunin said:5.56 is getting pretty expensive to shoot also, though.
I think "major 6.8" should be outlawed just like "major 9" used to be, and for the same reason. When it's proven that major pf can be achieved safely then it can be un-banned.mcb said:If I could shoot 6.8 and make USPSA Major power factor (PF=325 IIRC) for rifle then I would be all over the 6.8 but right now it looks like you are running 6.8 really hot to make Major.

Hence the reason I don't shoot 6.8 major or 9mm major. Me and Kabooms don't get along very well. I have had one Kaboom and it was unpleasant.AKM said:I think "major 6.8" should be outlawed just like "major 9" used to be, and for the same reason. With the advent of the 75 grain Tap .223 round and the 77 grain Black Hills MK 262 load. There is very little reason for the 6.8 and thats why the military pretty much dropped testing it.icemann said:Wonder what people's opinions were on the 6.8SPC round. I like the idea of 30% more hitting power and with the rising prices of .223/5.56 (even the surplus stuff) if I can reload it won't cost that much more to shoot. I figured about $0.08 more per round for components. Does anyone know where I can find more info on the performance of this round. It will make the decision alot harder too if the uppers are almost the same price.
I thought the military was going to drop the 5.56 and go to the 6.8 no?Alaskapopo said:With the advent of the 75 grain Tap .223 round and the 77 grain Black Hills MK 262 load. There is very little reason for the 6.8 and thats why the military pretty much dropped testing it.

Nope the 6.8 project was dropped. They deemed the 5.56 was adiquqate for their needs. This occurred about a year ago.ScottyPotty said:I thought the military was going to drop the 5.56 and go to the 6.8 no?
