I'm looking to get into the ar world with a Colt.

What is the difference betweem Colt Defense AR15 and Colt Mfg. AR15.

Specifically, what is the difference between LE models and MT models.

Specifically, what is the difference between LE models and MT models.

Colt Defense is suppose to be going to LE or Military only. Colt Manufaturing is suppose to go to civilians. Some companies sell Colt Defense to civilians, there's no law barring it currently. I belive that they are marked as "Military and Law Enforcement Only"

LE models are as close to an M16 without being an M16. They have a lot of the M16 parts in them like bolt carriers. They are using the real Military Specifications.

If that's what you want, then go for it.
