I've owned Bushmaster, S&W, Palmetto and Bear Creek AR15s over the last 20 years or so.
In my opinion, if you want to walk into a local gunshop and buy a decent AR15 at a fair price with a great warranty, I would recommend the S&W M&P 15. Next would be the Ruger AR556.
If you are comfortable getting one from an online retailer, that would be shipped to a local FFL, I would recommend Palmetto first, followed by Bear Creek. Both offer great warranty support but I find Palmetto to be a bit higher initial quality.
Also, if you get one, I suggest getting one of these manuals before asking tons of strangers how to maintain your rifle:
The M16A1 Rifle: Operation and Preventive Maintenance: Department of the Army: 9798363972669: Amazon.com: Books
Be well!
