I'm having lots of issues with the bullets tilting in the magazine and I have tried filing it out so they will ramp up it better and everything, but nothing seems to help.

The only rounds I've had sucess with not getting stuck in the mag were israeli military 5.56mm which I can not find any more.

So what's the best solution to the problem? Or what magazine should I get? I mentioned bushmaster because I have noticed some magazine makers specify that.

I think I'll grab one of the P-MAG magazines, thanks for the advice. I just wasn't sure if they'd fit my bushmaster. (The one in my avatar.)

Heres a good pic for comparison:

Mag on the left is some POS straight 20 that i picked up at a gunshow (guessing you have something of similar make). One on the right is a CProducts teflon-coated curved 20 with the Magpul follower.

The cheap mag (dont even know who its made by) is a piece of junk, and after 60 or so rounds, picked up the annoying habit of ejecting the last round free of the magazine if there was any shock (say, the cycling of the bolt). So, I'd fire the 2nd to last round in the mag, the bolt would lock back, and the last round would be sitting there in the chamber. So i went to ARFCOM, did some reading, and after several recommendations, went with CProducts mags (from 44mag.com, $10.60 apiece if i remember correctly), and I havent had an FTF since.

ETA: The P-Mags look pretty good, if a little more expensive... I may have to get one myself... Wish they made a 20 rounder tho... meh

Just ordered a black P-MAG from 44mag.com.

I was sold on it as soon as I saw that it had a round count window, that makes it worth every penny!

Magpul PMAG 30rd AR15 Magazine BlackIt's the hottest new AR15 magazine on the market and it doesn't just look cool the PMAG actually performs.
  • .223/5.56 caliber 30 round capacity.
  • Proprietary anti-tilt follower designed just for PMAG.
  • Made of a new super durable polyer. Not like any other polymer mags you've seen.
  • Includes snap-on cover to protect feedlips in storage.
  • Optional maglevel windows shows round count remaining.
  • Available in three molded in colors
So I assume that's something I can buy later on for it?

No. You ordered the standard non-window model. The windowed models aren't out yet. The one you have is the standard model, you can not convert it to the "windowed" version. You simply have to wait until they start shipping those. Either way the pmags are good, and should work better than your previous mag. ARs are finicky with mags as you're beginning to learn. USGI NHMTG mags are excellent also.

I've had great luck with cheap Stoner magazines from Midway. And I find it hard to believe that there aren't any 3 gun matches in a city the size of Houston.

Bravo Company has some nice teflon coated grey mags with green followers, I have four of them and they've worked flawlessly for me.
