Well thanks to all the chatter on AR's, I've been striken with BRD again. Had been in partial remission for about a year except for picking up mags and ammo here and there.

While browsing the EE on ar15 dot com I found a post just minutes old for a LMT 14.5" upper with a RRA BCG and charging handle. I IM'd the OP to confirm that the price included everything, and he replied "yes". Said he also has a Smith Vortex flash hider that he got for this upper and will include it no charge :D
Now to contact some local FFL's to find who has the best price on transfers and order a LMT lower for this bad boy.

Here is a pic of a LMT upper from Rainier Arms website

Nice. Are you going to throw an optic on top or a detach carry handle/sight? If an optic what kind do are you thinking of going with?

Will probably pick up another Aimpoint like I have on this Colt upper

Since this pic was taken I have changed the generic GG&G look alike cantilever mount with a ARMS cantilever mount, just got a LaRue pivot mount and a 2.5x magnifier and a MaTech buis to go under the magnifier. Need to get out and get some new pics hahaha.

eta: geez, I forgot I also put a Magpul M93b stock on it also

No need for an FFL if you are only shipping/
buying an upper!?!

I just received LMT's printed catalog
yesterday. Looks like great machinery.

Luckily for me, I am on a waiting list for my next upper, so my BRD is in remission (at least until the beginning of November ;)). What would be so special as to justify waiting that long?

A 30" BOHICA .50BMG upper, of course! :D

What 2.5 mag did you get and what did it run you?

it is a Hensoldt and a LaRue aimpoint pivot mount.
Got it more or less for the price of the LaRue mount
LaRue was selling these as a "poor boy" magnifier.
If I don't like it I can always get my $ back out of the mount :D

I read the post on ARFCOM.. I'm just worried about the existing reticle or did LaRue clean that up some how?

Anyway, let me know if it is an issue in conjunction with the AP setup you have... also it looks like you're going for the lower 1/3 co-witness.. I'd be curious if there is any FSP FOV imposition issues when the mag is engaged.

LaRue had them sent out, had the reticle removed, and repurged with nitrogen. Just got this mounted today and pics taken but by looking thru it the glass is clear, the FSB blurs out ( in lower 1/3 anyway :D). All in all I'm happy with it.
