I am going to a gun show tomorrow and wanted your imput on what models would best suit me and what would be a good price.

I have been looking on http://www.impactguns.com to get an idea of what I want.

I want a 16" barrel without an extended or permantly attached supressor. I also want the adjustable stock and mid length handguard.

I also don't need a handle but I want flip up metal sights.

I am eventually going to put an EOtech or other optic on it but not right away.

For Bushmaster I guess that would be a E2S Modular Carbine Fluted w/Acc or some type of ORC.

How much are BUIS that could be added to an ORC?

Sounds like the model you want is the Bushmaster Patrolman's Carbine. It has a 16" threaded barrel with a flash suppressor. Comes out to like 17-1/2 inches with the suppressor, if I recall correctly. With the flash suppressor removed, you still have a 16" barrel to remain legal. If you want 16" overall length with a threaded barrel and removable suppressor, that would be a 14.5" barrel, and therefore, a Short Barreled Rifle, needing a $200 stamp and sign off by CLEO in your area. There are other ways to get into NFA items, but that's another topic. This model has a carbine length gas system though, not a mid-length.

Or maybe I have mistaken your post and you want a 16" barrel with nothing attached on the end.

?

It can be 16" with the supressor.

I just don't want a 5" supressor.

Also I thought as long as the barrel and supressor were 16" total it was considered a riflle?
G
As long as the suppressor is permanently attached and the total length is at least 16" it's legal.

Nice Bushy! I'm so glad they're not PURPLE anymore! :-D

At $899, that's an awesome deal! Most A3 Bushmasters I see are around the $1K mark.

I got my RRA Entry Tactical at AR15sales.com and could not be happier. $869 is the base price but I had Pete put on a Surefire quad rail for mine.

We dont have a sportsmans warehouse and unfortunately as far as I know I cant purchase firearms out of state. Shame too since I'm going to be in Pitt, PA in a couple of weeks. Btw, where do you shoot that thing?

Well the show was a bust.

The only thing I bought was a gun rug for my XD.

There is a Sportsman Warehouse in Columbia SC and they have 16" Bushmaster A3s for $899.

There is a local Pawn that was at the show and they will not go lower then $950 plus tax. So screw that.

I'm gonna take a trip on Saturday down to Columbia and pick one up for my birthday.

And to top it all off, there is an IDPA match on Sunday which is my actual birthday.

Thanks for the info SK360
