chopping off all but the sight housing kind of makeing a BUIS on the cheap makes room on your rifle also for optics.im sure someone on here has some pics

the front will be junk. Id keep the twist knob as a spare but otherwise pitch it. Its a poor mans fixed BUIS. Very effective and actually looks pretty good too

Is this a fix that can be made with a hack saw? I haven't had my carry handle on my AR since I got it. I've been looking into a BUIS but this may be the best way to go.

Ok, I get it now! At first I thought you were going to chop a solid handle to make a Hillbilly flattop. But what you did makes perfect sense to me now. I bought an M4gery with the removable handle and I've found that my fat fingers must be forced into the handle to carry that way. Now that I know that I wish I'd just saved the money and bought something else instead. Oh well, I guess I got a $100+ BUIS! Ha, ha! Happy shooting!

I chopped my handle tonight. Any suggestions on getting the chopped part black? Also, looking down on the rear sight the part that actually houses the peeps and the windage/elevation knobs on mine is slightly canted to the left. When I adjust it back to flush with whats left of the handle it just cants itself back to the left. I'm only talking 2-3mm but it bothers me :???:.
