This may have been addressed a while ago, but I wanted to see if there is any problem dry firing an AR?

I know it is not a problem on most semi-automatic pistols, but I don't want to assume it is not a problem on an AR.

As long as it is assembled, fire away. Dry firing is actually part of the process during a function test on an AR.

If you have a assembled lower assembly without the upper attached, I would not recommend dry firing it. It can damage the bolt catch.
