When using a 512 eotech on a A3 rifle with standard front sight will the sight obstruct view of the eotech?

If so how much?

Solutions?

Thanx

The front sight will be inside the sight picture of the EO, but the reticle would be projected in front of the sight (or 'co-witnessing'). It shouldn't be a problem. You could also put a riser under the eo if you prefer a clean (Sightless, no co-witness) picture.

In some rifles, it's in the middle of the sight picture (or absolute co-witness):

Sometimes the the rifle's front sight may sit in the lower 3rd of the picture (or 1/3rd Co-witness, also happens when you use a low riser) In either case, the EO's reticle would be unobstructed and easy to see.

Hope this helps!

See, I like a clear view, personally.
Yeah me too, which is why my aimpoint is mounted on the carry handle. When I do go with a flat top, my upper will have a picatinny gas block. That way I can simply mount the front iron sight, then flip it down for a clean view.

its never been a problem for me. Don't even noticeit with my rear BUIS flipped down. I like having that site there. When I build my shorty, thats the setup I want with an EOTEch.

If I had a choice there would be no FSB. But after awhile you just get use to it. I like the FSB of AR's though, think it makes the rifle look better, plus they are bomb proof.

Hmm after all the misshaps of boot camp. I can personally attest they aren't bomb proof. However, if you set up the rifle around the front post its all good. It's when the front sight tip has to be adjusted a lot to zero in mine was so far up it literally wobbled. If you have a good one it won't get messed up. Personally I don't see the need for a bayonet compatable one and would want the front sight nearer to the end of the barrel, the distance between your sights is God.
