There was a similar thread posted by someone else over on AR15 but you know how that goes.

I have a bunch of brass marked FC 223 and a good amount of FC with a year code.

Some are crimped and some are not.

Some have red rings around the primers and some don't.

The guys over on arfcom say to just scrap it and recycle because some of it is American Eagle but they also mention that some of it may be made by LC.

Any thoughts on how to tell which ones have the crappy primer pockets that expand after one firing?

I've loaded FC brass (after swaging the primer pockets, of course), and all of it has run just fine.

Guess that doesnt really answer your question, but I've never had that problem you speak of.

I use all kinds of brass FC, LC, WCC,RP the only brass that I don't reload is head stamped IK (yogo brass). The flash hole is smaller than the decapping pin I broke 2 pins on my dillion 550 @ $3.50 per pin . IK brass costs too much to reload.

I use reloader10x @ 21gn powder & 55gn FMJ bullet for my RRA M4.
