Took it to the range this afternoon... 25 yards with the Eotech 511.

I hope to improve that, but it works for me for the first time out with it!

Freakin beautiful. How much did that run you, if you don't mind posting it?

Thanks!! :p

With taxes and such I paid less than $700. $315 more for the Eotech.

Got everything from Del-Ton. Great people!

Yeah, accuracy needs improvement. Never used a holo-sight before, it's a bit fuzzy for me, have to play with the positioning. My next purchase is a set of BUIS.
G
very nice and it was less than mine. I like the adjustable stock you have
did you buy the gun new or used?

holosights are fun as hell on a .22 pistol, i don't know about using them on a rifle like that.

I bought the parts. Stripped lower, LPK, assembled upper.

Nice!

Did you post these pics at arfcom w/ the title "I lost my mind at the gunshow"? Seems familiar...

How you like the eotech? I'm hoping to put one on my ar that I"m hoping to have someday soon...ish...

Yep, that's me.

Love the eotech, I think it's primary use is fast targeting within 30-40 yards. I'm going to add a scope at some point to shoot for accuracy. I've even seen guys with rigs where they mount a scope and hang an eotech off at a 45 dg angle.

I don't know if you're building or not, but I highly recommend Del-Ton...
G
+1 on Del-Ton. They are great folks. I used them to get my upper.

I don't know what kind of accuracy you are wanting. Nor do I know at what distances you are going to be shooting. Having said that, I would suggest that you get use to the holosight and first actually try IT at those ranges. You may be amazed at the accuracy you can get out of that red dot.

I have seen some use the type of setup you speak of; the dual optic setup. In fact, I have and sometimes still do consider trying it myself. They definately have their place. However, I have personally seen such good accuracy with some of these holographic sights that it almost seems un-needed.

Just a thought. YMMV
G
Man, you did go 'hog wild' on purchases.

You did a fine job on your first build. That
Red Dot will only get 'better' as you use it
more.

Have fun.
