A lot of what would help, is really to go shooting. Learn how your eyes see through the sights and what adjustments you have to make on said sights to dope the yardage and wind.
Experiment with it and set distance goals for yourself.

Learn how your eyes see through the sights and what adjustments you have to make on said sights to dope the yardage and wind.im new to ar15s and i keep hearing that you can use iron sights up to 500 yards and i just dont see how that is possible and was wondering if anybody had a websight that helps with the sights on an ar. now i know alot of people are going to say "just go shooting" well i learned alot from reading about proper technique when learning handgun shooting skill and that helped me alot so any and all advice would be welcome
Are there any instructors/classes nearby to you?i have be practicing quite a bit its just different from a handgun and dont have anybody to teach me so i have to do it myself and just wanted some pointers
Its possible with large targets. People shoot high power competition out to 600 yards with irons. But you need a target big enough for you to see. There are also custom smaller diameter rear sights and finer front sights you can buy. But personally I prefer optics on my AR's.im new to ar15s and i keep hearing that you can use iron sights up to 500 yards and i just dont see how that is possible and was wondering if anybody had a websight that helps with the sights on an ar. now i know alot of people are going to say "just go shooting" well i learned alot from reading about proper technique when learning handgun shooting skill and that helped me alot so any and all advice would be welcome
