*Oops, probably should have posted this in the photo gallery..*

RRA Entry Tactical.
223/5.56 NATO Chamber---Forged A4 Upper Receiver---Chrome Lined 16" R-4 Wilson Barrel 1:9 Twist---National Match 2 Stage Trigger---Detatchable Tactical Carry Handle--- Hogue Rubber Grip---6 Position Tactical CAR Stock---SureFire rails
I'm a total noob with this rifle. I've been cruising AR15.com for a little while and have learned alot but will probably ask my questions on here.
Here's one; why does it say 'RESTRICTED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OR GOVERNMENT USE ONLY'?

Congrats on the new RRA! God I can't wait till mine's done.
As to the restricted marking, my guess would be that the lower was made before the AWB sunset and it (the lower) was intended for a LEO model.

If you're willing, shoot some 77gr. bullets thru her; I'm interested if the 1 in 9 twist will stabilize the heavier rounds at longer distances.

I'm not sure when it'll be fired. I really need to learn how to take it apart and how to clean it first. My BIL is a LEO and he has an American Spirit Arms. I'll have to have him show me a thing or two tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments; I'm glad you all like it, I know I do!

It says LEO-GOV use only Because some states are still under State bans that mirror the Clinton brain fart. Its easier to leave it on, I guess they could add "Where Applicable".

The #1 error I see people make, and made the same mistake myself, is to go out and start buying more stuff to put on the gun. Get good with the stock gun, not only will you always be able to fall back on the basic iron sighted rifle but you will better learn just what the rifle need to be to suit your needs. All the Swag in the world wont make you any better a shot, so spend the money on ammo. They make a drop in 22 kit for the AR15, its well worth the money and works great. Here is a great 14day practice program, It dose work very well if you hav ethe self dissaplin to stay at it.

1x9 twist will shoot 77grain depending on the lenght of the bullet. It will not shoot anything that wont fit in the mag, pretty much anything bigger then 77. I notice no change from a 1x7 to a 1x9 with 77grains out to about 300 yards , from there the 1x7 is more stable but both will hit the target. Keep in mind im not the greatest shot either.

Thanks for the good info (keep it coming)! I know what you mean about add ons. I'm mainly interested in learning everything I can about the rifle right now and buying ammo and magazines. Optics and such will come later when I know what I want. :)

Very cool, I'll finally have an AR together tomorrow (I hope).......

Cleaning and stripping an AR is really easy and the maryland AR site has a lot of great info.

I just bought a box of black hills .223 ammo, 68 gr and it said it needed a 1 in 10" twist or faster for that grain. Then it said for 73, 75, and 77 grain you should use a 1 in 9, 1 in 8 or 1 in 7. So I'm assuming that the 77 grain will work just fine in a 1 in 9. I haven't tested it yet though. I'd trust they know what they are talking about. Granted, a 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 would do even better for that, but I think the 1 in 9 would do fine.
