I just picked up a Bushmaster AR-15 A3. It has the flat top rail so I dont have a rear sight. Im lookin for a good rear sight, carry handle, or a scope for under 100$. Any suggestions?
I have the Arms rear with a YHM front on my gun. I changed out the YHM front sight blade to a Trijicon night sight. The Arms rear is not compatible with the Trijicon rear so it is plain.
If you save a little longer you might be able to find some steals on optics. I think I found a used EoTech on the trading post a little while back for ~$250.
Bushnell has a Holosight thats identical to the EOTech minus the hood, brand new it runs for about 230 bucks online. Since most people dont throw their gun down mountains, the lack of the hood is no big deal.
I have a handle on my AR-15... the scope works very well in my novice experience. at 100 yds, i can get 5-6" groups and I think most of that is my lack of ability. the gun shoots where i point it, i just need to practice on pointing it better
now, i have one minor problem i need to work out with this. when scope is mounted directly to handle, it works like a dream. i also purchased this goose neck attachment: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Famous_Maker_Carry_Handle_Scope_Accessory_Mount.html
this mount doesn't stay well attached after reapeated firing and basically renders the scope useless. i think i need some loctite on the mounting screw or something so this doesn't happen.
but i digress... pretty nice scope for the price. my first rifle experience from a .22 so not sure this goes a long way. just my 2 cents.
