So, I joined the "Homeland Defense Rifle" (;) ) Club today....

DPMS Panther Arms AP4 Carbine... 16 Inch Barrel...

Range Report:
I fired approx. 200 rounds through it today or so (mix of Ultramax Factory reloaded stuff, and Federal American Eagle FMJ's). With the exception of 1 ftf, it was flawless. I don't expect any gun to be perfect without a break in period, especially if it isn't all that high end to begin with, so it don't bother me one bit.

I'm kinda lazy most days when I go to the range. Usually I just bring clay pigeons with me and set them out at varying distances and plink at those. I haven't shot one of these before, with the exception of a full-auto M16 at a range one day, but that had a red dot on it. I was just using iron sights today to get use to them. Not to bad after the first mag or two, and it only got better....

Lets just say, if you are a clay pigeon between me and 75 yards, give or take, you aint there for long.....
I forsee many happy days with this rifle

Better pics to come.... Matt

i spent $150 on a new stock and buffer tube for my AR a week ago. I also had to buy a new forearm wrench to be able to remove my quad rail.. then I had to buy the receiver block, then I had to build a small table and purchase a vise to put on it, so I could secure my gun in it for working on it. Then I spent $50 on a new grip for it lol. did I mention I'm looking at spending $100 on a different quad rail now?

You will enjoy your gun. I took a tacitcal rifle class tonight with mine.. until tonight all I had done is just stand up and shoot, or lay down with it supported on a rest.. I hadn't tried to REALLY use the rifle. It was fun, and I can only imagine how much more fun it'll be once I get better at shooting it.

It is a disease, one that cannot be cured... it can be slowed by limited funds, but there is absolutely no cure for it! Either this rifle will stay looking how it does now... and another one will join the group, or you will soon find yourself modifying this one with different things! Prepare, the disease has taken over.

Nice rifle. Mine is the same except with a collapsible stock. Everybody needs a evil rifle.

I'm going to correct you on this one. Everyone needs a GOOD rifle.. meant for combatting EVIL.

16" will be my next one, only I think I'm going to go SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT. Have you mortgaged your house yet for accessories?

You know what's funny? These anti-gun morons bring up their gun ban talk, and all it does is make us go out and buy these rifles. I purchased my AR last may, knowing that some day down the road they may once again be illegal to buy.. Then after the elections.. there were a TON of people on here, people who had never even thought about purchasing an AR before... buying their first rifle.

There are quite a few more AR's and AK's in the hands of good people now, because morons decide to bring up the idea of another gun ban. I wonder if they truly realize how innefective them talking about gun control is? They'd probably cower in the corner if they knew how many black rifles were purchased in reaction to their gun ban talks lol.. and they think their talks lead to people becoming fearful of these guns.

I agree with you 110%! My AR-15 was purchased after reading some gun-bann BS crap on the internet. I thought to myself "hey, I've consider it (lightly), but if I want to get an AK/AR, i better do so NOW, or I may not be able to later" thus, the purchase was made. Being someone who puts EVERYTHING off, without the fear of the bann, I probabaly NEVER would have investetd the time/money to pick up that gun. But, I'll tell you this..... I'm DAMN GLAD I did!

Nice AR. The BRD infects another victim!!

I have wanted one for awhile and well last night I set up a budget to include a "Homeland defense rifle" fund. After I get the gun I am planning on still putting the same amount into the fund for either another gun or ammo or accessories.

no coughing.. you may have caught some of the smoke out of my barrel as it floated down range though. i think that's how the disease spreads.

Very nice Matt! Congratulations!

no no, anti gun activists have already proved - guns provoke evil in everyone. that's why places with restrictive controls have NO crime! it's proven... 65% of the time it works EVERY-time...

congrats on the rifle tho, i can't wait to shoot mine again... Grrr... makin me jumpy! :D

This Sunday I am taking my brother on his first ever AR shoot. That should be enough to infect him, although I think his wife may actually have the antidote. :(
