Let me ask this, are you going to sell it? I will only sell or trade a firearm if it absolutely fails to be reliable.

You are correct, they do not fetch the money that a "real" one will. For me, not an issue since I don't sell them. I get what I want.

Not too long ago I got a good deal on some RRA lowers, stripped. I then managed a nice RRA upper at a very good price to go with it. Not my normal route, but it came out just over what I can build it for, but much less than a already done RRA. Now I want to find one more.. :)

OK I may just not have had enough coffee, so this may sound a tad rude.

Who gives a flying rats ass what others think about YOUR weapon?

If you're looking for resale value then the Brand Name Whores will not be overly interested in your weapon... UNLESS, you put it together with "Top Tier" parts. I have zero doubt that if you put together a Larue Upper with a POF lower and a Super cool trigger pack, KNS pins, MagPul Stock, grip and schtuff that you'd have zero issue selling it.

If on the other hand you put a Stag upper on a no-name lower with a cheap ass LPK and generic other parts.. you won't get what you paid for it.

But I'll give you $200 for it + Shipping if you really want :)

lol i dont give a ratts butt either......i was just wondering, i dont sell my guns but just in case one day i decide to trade up or go a diffirent route id like to know what to ask for.

That's the wonderful thing about the AR, you can upgrade all you want and not have to worry too much about the base platform.
G
i also had that urge to build a same breed upper and lower.

mixing is functionally fine... but i view it as wearing nike logoed socks with reeboks..

its just not for me
to each his own.

Have you checked out the parted out M16A1s that are hitting the market right now?

I'm talking $300 for a complete upper, here.

I think those would be the cats derriere for a cheap shooter....
G
well i ended up with a purebred RRA naitional match A4 so i guess i dont have to worry about it now ..lol
G
You know it isn't real until you show us pictures right?

Also keep in mind, even a purebred RRA, Stag, Bushy, etc is worth 3x if you sell each part by itself, or the complete upper, etc etc

As for parts guns, heck it gives you the chance to put what you want on it the first time, who cares what anyone else thinks! :)
