I am looking for a Skeleton buttstock for my AR, and was wondering if anyone had one layin around, or if anyone knew where I could get a good deal on one. Probably 9.5"-10".

I just picked up a used Ace ARFX stock from the Equipment Exchange on ar15.com.

Keep an eye out as they typically go for $70-$80 with the stock, tube, buffer, and spring.

They make two different lengths of ACE stock also the short "entry" one and the regular length one. I've got the regular length one on mine and I like it enough to keep it. As stated above check the EE on AR15.com they have enough parts flying though there on a daily basis that you should never have to buy a new full price aftermarket part EVER.

So what are your likes and dislikes so far?

The cheek riser that they sell looks like it may be a good fit on a scoped AR.

Likes-
Solid
Lightweight
buttstrokes real good :D

Dislikes-
No good places to attach a 3 point sling (though this may be a mute point soon as I think I'm going to be moving to a 1 point sling)
That's about it.

I'm liking it so far. The few Optics I've had on my AR worked fine as long as they were mounted on the rails. In the case of my current optic a FACOG mounted on my carry handle (flat top mount they provided was jacked up) that piece may come in handy but I find the basic stock by itself with no recoil pad or anything shoots well for me.

I think they entry model may be too short for me but for someone like a small woman or pre-teen or teen kid it may be excellent for them.

I looked at these but I was looking to put it on a long range varmint rifle and since it has a heavy fluted barrel, im afrain a stock this light would throw the balance off.

Ideas?

i wish someone would come up with a way to make a folding buttstock, but figuring out what to do with the spring and buffer makes that kinda hard.

Ide like one with the foam roll on it, but probably not a cheek riser.... Ill keep my eyes on ar15, just was wondering if anyone had seen any good deals around the webbernet

I always liked the look of them. Galils and Para FAL's have similiar stocks.

I have one that is similiar to the Ace on my XCR, I have nothing negative to say about it. I like that they are thin, I like the foam pad on the cheek tub, and I like the fact that you always get a good cheekweld no matter what sites or optics you are running.
