Nope I stick with Surefire lights for serious use.
Just giving you ideas on mounting solutions, it is spec'd as a 25mm body, so 1" is very close.

I saw one of these just recently being used by some Federal Protection guys for "testing" and honestly, it had a throw about as good as the stock P6. I'm with Mike though, I'll stick with my SureFire addiction for now.

The throw on the Solarforce has to be better than the P6. The output is much higher than the Surefire.

All I can say is what I saw at a Federal Facility I was at last week.. 6P vs. What looks to be the exact same like posted. I could be wrong on what they were "testing" but given that these guys are bigger flash light whores than I am (each carrying at least 3) and it being about 11pm when they were showing them off. Much brighter throw than the E1E and G2 I had with me.

Badshot,

The 6P outputs at 60 lumens, the new Q5 and R2 LED's blow the 6P out of the water (and for a lot less money). I will try and find some of the posts but if you go to candle power forums and search the "Reviews" section they have posted beam shots there and you can see for yourself.

The only reason I would buy the 6P now is for the lifetime warranty but then I would buy a Q5 or R2 dropin and put it in the 6P. There are some very high quality dropins from companies like Malkoff, Dereelight etc. that can make the 6P REALLY shine but as it exists now at 60 lumens, you might as well buy a Maglight 3 pack at Costco.

You're assuming that the light in question still had the stock head assembly. I can't be for certain and I have no contact information for the LE guys I was shooting the breeze with. Note that I mention that I had my G2 with me, that's a 65 Lumen throw with the stock head assembly.. and the light (again appearing to be very similar to what's shown in the thread) they had was brighter than my G2, but not more so than the P6 - 65/120 lumens. So I'm going to assume that they had the upgraded heads.

Now.. finding a LED head for all of my SF lights in on the radar, particularly if they don't run as much as the original light purchase price! So please .. if you've got a line on good replacement LED heads for G2's, E1E/E2D, 6P's .. let us know!!!
