Tons of options.. MOLLE vests and then his choice of pouches and placement. Eagle, Tactical Tailor, TAG and many more.. but, another option for the Tacticool crowd can be found at CheaperThanDirt.com .. if he's never had a vest or isn't sure exactly what he wants then the prices there make it affordable to make a few mistakes while figuring it out.

Lazarus .. 360 rounds is a great basic combat load as long as you have more ammo in the 3rd line gear. My vest and LBE are both geared towards carrying that much as a basic load. I think you'll find anyone who's shooting for a living and has others shooting back carries at least that much.

Thanks, Ill check out some of the brands you've listed i haven't heard of. I just want a basic rig to get me through the courses. Maybe something with a hydration bladder.

Really? Wow. How much does all that weigh?

When I first got into the AR I wanted to be able to have at least a 500rd load-out. 22 pmags, 5 usgi, and 4 10 round mags later I'm up to 850.

CTD has a vest (I think it's molle) that will accept a hydration bladder, for around $40.

Nikon, check this out then..

Add a few additional mag shingles if you want the extra carry capacity and your GTG, but I also think you'll find that in a class like you're talking about, you don't need all of that ammo on hand, you'll have plenty of time to reload or get fresh mags between cycles.

Laz, with a full load out including armor and first line stuff, my gear load is at about 60lbs. Add 3rd line and it jumps to closer to 100lbs depending on the season. That's sans weapon weight.

U want www.thevestguy.com

He will make anything U want.

He made me a shoulder holster for PS90 mags, and a tac vest for PS90 mags.

He'll make anything U want - and he isn't that expensive. If U don't see what ya want on his site - send him an e-mail and he'll come up with it.

Nikon... I would consider a plater carrier vs a regular vest that can only carry mags around. In the future you will have the option to use some rifle plates if need be.

Need a tac vest for a big guy, needs to hold about 12 AR mags or so.
Look on EBay I was looking at tactical vests today and they had OD green tac. vests that held AR Mags and shot shells on seperate sides. The vests were made by Blackhawk. They also had universal pistol holsters attached. Hope this is helpful.
