ok i just wonder how you other ar-mak daddys do it..if you engage a target with a 30 round clip and fire lets say a even 15 rounds and then you have a second to take cover.,...do you keep said mag in or would you swap it out for a fresh full mag and pocket the half empty one?

Two schools of thought there, both are correct. If you're going to do a tactical reload (reloading regardless of remaining rounds in the MAGAZINE) many teach that you should have a dump pouch. Many others teach that you shoot until you are dry and reload then. I do both, it isn't a conscious decision most times if I'm moving and shooting, just change when the opportunity arises. Other times I've surprised myself and run dry when I didn't expect it.

There are several good drills you can run centered around this idea, if they aren't obvious, ask.
